Relaxations related to Training Levy owing to extreme social distancing
Note that the training levy is waived for a period of six months from April to September 2020 due to extreme social distancing.
Further to the above, please find below information regarding Businesses being granted an extension for conducting training and utilizing the training refund;
- In order for the training expenses to be utilised from the training levy for the period 1st April 2019 to 31st March 2020, all training was to be held before March 31st 2020,
- As many businesses could not hold their trainings scheduled for the month of March 2020 due to social distancing, businesses are now permitted to conduct trainings after April 2020, and claim the amount back.
- Businesses are required to inform HRDC regarding this intention before the 30th of April, with the following details:
- Name of the course;
- Number of employees intended to be trained;
- Date the training scheduled for;
- Estimated cost;
